La Dame Blanche

$11.00

Worked holding only one yarn at a time, this shawl is Mosaic Lace which is a fusion of slip stitch color-work and lace techniques. There is no yarn management of a carried yarn (except up the side), only knitting stripes and slipping stitches.

Worked in the amazing natural yarn from The Ross Farm this shawl evokes the rustic elegance of the Outlander series. Specifically the name is a reference to the pseudonym the protagonist receives during the French portion of the story.

The shawl is cast on at a tip and worked in ever increasing rows to a long bind-off trim. One could easily expand the size by adding repeats (and yarn). The stitches include basic lace increases and decreases as well as strategically placed double decreases.

Instructions are provided in both chart form and fully written out.

Due to the nature of the naturally colored wools sheep specific colors are often unavailable or discontinued. This piece can be knit in any combination of colors that have high contrast with one another.
