As winter turns into spring the Jackdaws start to make themselves known. You only need to hear them once to understand why a collection of Jackdaws is called a Clattering! They sit in the trees, amid the lime leaves of the wood near to our house and their squawks echo into the pale sky letting us know that spring and warmer weather is on the way.

Echo Wood is a wide top down shawl that is a shallow triangle. Worked in fingering weight yarn or fingering weight yarn and a fuzzy mohair/silk sport weight, the simple garter stitch stripes lead into a section of interesting stitches and cables before resuming the garter stitch for the shawl edge. Knit in either two or three colours this is a simple yet effective and very, very wearable shawl.
