Looking at history books/records and books of myths and/or legends, there are often the same names mentioned in both. Are legends stories including real people, in actual places, with imagined experiences with twists and turns, woven around them – essentially some truth but with a degree of embellishment? Where does history and truth stop and legend and myth begin. I don’t suppose we will ever know.

Truth or Legend is a top down, crescent shaped shawl inspired by this very question. Using two colours (one base at 400m/100g, two colours; one skein of each or one of Yarn A and two of Yarn B for a larger shawl or for yarns of less than 400m/100g) and beads on Colour B the decision is entirely yours as to whether the truth is darker than the legend or whether the legend is very much a lighter tale. Choose the beads to match Colour A – they will be used on Colour B so will stand out beautifully and provide a link between Truth or Legend.
