Thistledown

$10.80

I simply love Midsummer Nights’ Dream by William Shakespeare but there is always one faery I can never remember the name of. I always want to call her ‘Thistledown’ but I know that is not her name, she is called ‘Moth’. Well, none of us want a ‘Moth’ in our shawl drawer or in our yarn closet so I am renaming the faery ‘Thistledown’ and just sending my apologies to Mr Shakespeare for having the audacity to interfere with his masterpiece.

Thistledown is a wide, triangular, shawl is knit in one piece from the top centre in a wonderfully addictive and soothing pattern that provides a pretty, delicate ending and textural interest.

The wonderful versatility of this shawl makes it possible to knit in almost any weight of yarn (though yardage and needle requirements will vary as this has been written for Fyberspates Faery Wings) and it is simple enough for beginners to lace knitting and yet interesting enough for those with more experience.
