Poppy is a penguin on a mission – stay warm, stay fabulous, stay visible in a blizzard. She’s a knitter, so of course she has a matching hat and cowl set. Gotta use up those single skeins, after all!

Poppy is worked in a combination of flat and in the round. The body is worked flat with intarsia – a wonderfully simple way of inserting a colour in the middle of the work. After the body is seamed together, stitches are picked up for the hat, which is worked in the round. The bottom of the body is also picked up from the penguin and worked in the round. The cowl, flippers, and feet are all worked in the round as well.

The beak is added with duplicate stitch after the body is knit.
