Goselet is one of many Scots words for different types of rain and means “a soaking, drenching downpour”.
The lace pattern used in the shawl is adapted from a Barbara Walker stitch pattern and reminds me of the ripples that the rain makes on the water.
Goselet is a top-down crescent-shaped shawl which starts with a garter stitch tab. Garter stitch wings frame a central lace panel and the shawl is finished with a simple eyelet edging.
